LITURGICAL MINISTRIES:
- Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC or EM) – Laypersons commissioned by the pastor to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion. Those serving in this ministry must be 18 years of age, a practicing Catholic in good standing, and be trained.
- Lectors - Laypersons who proclaim the readings, prayers of the faithful, and announcements at Mass. This ministry requires you be a practicing Catholic, at least 16 years of age, and be trained. Lectors should have excellent reading skills and a clear and steady voice. A willingness to study and pray with the scripture readings before each liturgical assignment is a commitment that each Lector should observe.
- Altar Servers - Young people are eligible to assist the priest at liturgical celebrations. Training and parental permission is required.
- Music Ministry - We welcome all ages and abilities at the St. Michael Choir! Click here to complete a request for more information.
- Ministry to the Sick - Ministers take the Eucharist to parishioners who are home-bound or in nearby hospitals or nursing homes. They try to be helpful and offer caring fellowship to those they visit. Volunteers have been trained at EMHCs and are certified by the parish.
